Cymophane Productions (previously known as Burznazg Productions) was founded by Varg Vikernes in 1993 to release only Burzum albums, because of lack of competence of Deathlike Silence Productions and poor management of its owner -
Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth.
After Vikernes' prison arrest in 1993,
Misanthropy Records (founded in 1993 by Tiziana Stupia aka Diamanda Morta) provided assistance in publishing Burzum albums.
In 2000, after the release of the album
"Hliðskjálf" (1999),
Misanthropy Records was abolished, and Cymophane Productions became part of Resistance Records for a while, after which it actually ceased to exist.
The company's name is associated with the ornamental stone chrysoberyl, also known as cat's eye, and is placed on the company's logo. The eye is the image of the all-seeing single eye of Óðinn (German Wotan).
Cymophane is Greek and is translated as "Wave to appear" which is the wave of European heathendom.
